A 2 hour engaging historical experience about the 18th century preacher, evangelist and writer John Wesley.
We will explore his enduring links with Boston, which he visited on three occasions.
Starting at Centenary Methodist Church, it will feature a short walk around the town of Boston including a visit to the parish church of St Botolph’s known as the Stump. Wesley climbed to the top of the tower and admired the view. Thanks to the new interactive display the view can now be enjoyed with feet firmly on the ground.
This will be a gentle, short walk with time at each location to find out a little about Wesley and the development of Methodism in the town. You wouldn’t have wanted to have been in his shoes!
Admire the interior of the wonderful Centenary Church whilst enjoying tasty homemade refreshments and hot drinks.
Hear stories and a few fascinating facts as we find out about the life of this amazing man who rode 250,000 miles on horseback.
Wesley made some honest remarks about the town and local people. Come and find out if you agree with him!
