Wheatfield, Oxfordshire
Built in the 12th/13th century this church is of historical and architectural importance. It has many medieval architectural features as well as stained glass from the William Morris workshops and a fine memorial by P Scheemakers. As well as being of significance to our heritage, Wheatfield church serves a rural and sometimes isolated community for whom the regular Sunday services are vital. It remains unique with its lack of electric light and the services by candlelight are magical and much loved.
Great Haseley, Oxfordshire
Set in a beautiful peaceful churchyard with views over to the Chilterns, St Peter's is a surprisingly large church for a small village, and features the main architectural styles from 1200 to 1500, together with a wealth of details including stained glass by some of the best designers between 1850 and 2000.
