Built around 1836, the church is now listed Grade II.

Unusually the church is orientated north south with the main entrance facing north.A small porch gives access to the large open worship space formed by a nave and west aisle. The West aisle was added in 1878. Built of stone, the church has a timber roof covered with slates and a spire rising from the clock tower finished with shingles.

The church has some lovely stained glass windows, some more recent but all are well worth seeing.

A feature for visitors is the Christmas Tree Festival held over three days leading up to the traditional carol service on the Sunday before Christmas.
