Built in 1851, the church was refurbished and decluttered in 2002. A beautiful sculpture, The Welcoming Christ’ made by Peter Eugene Ball hangs above the nave. His work normally graces cathedrals and abbeys, but also this humble Gomersal parish church. The refurbishment was tastefully done, leaving the church peaceful and restful, at the same time giving opportunity for events.

Besides the Christus there are three wooden articles made by the Yorkshire Mouseman, the Memorial board, the notice board in the porch and the tabernacle.

In the graveyard is a grave of Mary Taylor, friend of Charlotte Bronte of the Bronte Sisters and also five war graves.

The church is accessible for wheelchairs and bathroom facilities. There is adequate on road parking.
