Jonathan Rhind Architects are an award-winning RIBA chartered architectural practice with over 30 years’ experience in historic buildings conservation and regeneration, often for difficult or historically sensitive sites throughout the Southwest. We are passionate about helping people to access and understand their heritage and we make sympathetic changes to ensure historic buildings can be used and enjoyed today and long into the future.
All six Directors are church inspecting architects, and regularly undertake Quinquennial Inspections for churches of all sizes and listing status for Bath & Wells, Exeter, and other diocese. Our architectural and technologist team have or are working towards conservation accreditation.
We have extensive experience of working on church repair schemes - spires and towers, reroofing, timber and stone repairs, as well as engaging with the community and consultees on reordering schemes for accessibility, flexible space use and facilities and service upgrades.
Many of the projects involve grant providers such as the National Lottery Heritage fund. Jonathan Rhind Architects can assist PCCs, volunteer bodies, and other stakeholders with funding applications, liaise with multiple teams, and assist with meeting requirements for community engagement, training, interpretation, access etc.
We have a good working knowledge of local craftsmen and suppliers, and an excellent working relationship with local authorities, conservation officers and the local DACs.
Jonathan Rhind Architects have a strong track record of delivering complex quality projects, from concept feasibility stage through to completion.
