Bethesda was founded in 1931 following a successful tent mission that was held in fields that were soon to become an area of new housing in the north of Cardiff. The building is often overlooked due to its setting on a residential road, surrounded by houses and bungalows. Over the years Bethesda has been extended to meet the growing needs of the church and is currently undergoing an upgrading project to make the building fit for current and future needs.
