Set at the head of a wooded valley, Laneast church has an almost complete and very well preserved set of medieval benches and bench ends, a well preserved rood screen, and a prayer desk from the beginning of the 16th century.

Also medieval is stained glass that includes part of a Crucifixion in the east window and St Christopher in the south chancel.
The font is Norman. In the church is a memorial to astronomer John Couch Adams, who discovered the planet Neptune in 1846.
