The local Operatic and Dramatic Society began their life in our church. As did the local amateur cricket team who are still known as 'The Bingley Congs'.
Dissenters had been meeting illegally, and later legally, in private houses around Bingley for many years until in 1695 ‘The Presbyterian Dissenting Chapel’ was erected.
In 1818, a new chapel was erected and extended by a third in 1845. The chapel is a very simple building, recently refurbished and recarpeted, but essentially retaining the atmosphere of the original. In 2018 when we celebrate 200 years in our present building we hope to welcome as many of the people of Bingley as we can squeeze in.
