Hooton Pagnell was recorded in the Domesday Survey, although there is no mention of a church we know one existed as in 1089 Ralph Paganel granted the church to the Priory of Holy Trinity in York.
It is known as ‘the church in the fields’ as it stood alone by 1650 as most of the houses had gone. The black death of 1349-50 severely affected the area and the village gradually disappeared.
The churchyard contains some very interesting stones. Ours is an interesting church, with much to interest visitors so why not pay us a visit you would be made very welcome.
