Standing beside the road between Callington and Liskeard, St Ive is a remarkable example of a 14th century church.
St Martin's in Liskeard is a medieval church, and the second largest church in the Diocese of Truro.

With a major reordering completed in Autumn 2018, it is a mixture of the old and the modern: superb organ, beautifully carved pulpit and stained glass windows alongside modern seating in the nave, kitchen area, newly engraved glass screen to the war memorial, and state of the art AV system.
Most of the nave is now open plan. The pews have been retained in the choir stalls and Lady Chapel, and the best of the nave pews have been repositioned along the north wall of the nave.
The war memorial frieze is highly unusual, featuring civilians on one side and armed forces on the other, with Christ in the centre. Unusual in featuring women as well as men, it goes one step further, with eight of the twelve people shown being women.
The pulpit is ornately carved and dated 1636, and the vicar’s stall, known locally as 'the rocket', is also very ornate, with an angel on its top. Indeed, angels appear all around the church.
The open plan nave is designed to provide a highly flexible space, that provides for both church and community uses. The Lewis organ now has a modern console which can be moved to one of three positions, depending of the orientation and nature of the event.
