Breamore is one of the most famous and important Saxon churches in England, notable for its many Saxon details, but especially for the Saxon inscription carved into the arch of the south porticus.

Translated, the inscription reads: 'Here the Covenant becomes manifest'.
Other important Saxon details include a rood with later wall paintings, and exterior masonry with typical Saxon long and short work and pilaster strips reusing Roman materials. The church is in a peaceful setting.
