It has links with the life of John Smith, founder and President of Virginia USA.
It has an impressive tower with four pinnacles and a fine recessed west window. Access to the ringing chamber is via an ancient ladder fashioned from two long tree trunks with sawn logs for steps. Look for the word 'toothache' carved inside.
