St Bartholomew’s was heavily restored in 1863 by Rogers and Marsden of Louth when considerable work was undertaken to the pews, roof lining and other casements.

Arthur Mee mentions a fine 15th century font, which, following the redundancy, was removed and went to All Saints, Newton Heath in Manchester according to Pevsner, but no one seems to be able to work out why and how it got there!

Mention is also made of a fine brass dated 1415 of Sir John Skypwyth, a colourful Lincolnshire character and Member of Parliament. He is portrayed dressed in armour with sword.
