This beautifully simple building is in a valley about a mile from Hastingleigh village, there may have been a church here in the 6th century, but the present building is largely Norman and Early English.

The lychgate was made in 1993 by local craftsmen to commemorate 700 years of worship. The north wall of the church is the oldest part and probably contains Saxon workmanship.

Inside, looking from the Norman nave, the excellent 15th century rood screen stands out, and beyond that, the exceptionally long and light chancel whose floor level is, unusually, lower than that of the nave.
