Step back into a medieval world of conquest, romance and conflict, and learn about a ‘rags to riches’ story of a lowly soldier acquiring land through invasion and how his sons added to the family landholdings through an invasion of Ireland, and then being knighted on the battlefield.

Building castles in Pembrokeshire and Ireland, the family spread their wings and descendants travelled the breadth of the world. Live through an era of danger and mysticism through the stories of this dynasty.

See the relics of this bygone era depicted in a tapestry, some of the archaeological discoveries and examine the two effigies.

Taste the foods of the common soldier and listen and watch La Volta play music on medieval musical instruments.

Find out how this tiny village celebrated a medieval wedding which culminated in a medieval feast with jousting and archery.

This is a history lesson you will not only never forget, you will also play a part in making as you help us design a medieval garden in the churchyard, to be enjoyed for future generations.

Your tour will allow time for a lunch stop of a traditional Welsh lunch at Llangwm’s Cottage Inn (price of meal is not included in the tour).

This tour is exclusive to ExploreChurches.
