St Mary

'Fylliog church is an ancient, thoroughly restored in the twentieth century, set in a quiet and peaceful location nestled beneath trees beside a flowing river. It is an oasis of calm where the spiritual and divine is easy to feel.

A living storybook, the church bears witness both to history and to the community in which it stands. Among its historical treasures is an entry in the church register shows that King Charles I stopped at Cyffylliog to review his troops during the English Civil war. A set of dog tongs is displayed on the wall, this funny looking implement was used to separate fighting dogs during worship!
