St Lawrence

Weston-Under-Penyard, Herefordshire

Address

St Lawrence
Weston-Under-Penyard
Herefordshire
HR9 7QA

St Lawrence is a major landmark and building of historic significance. It is Norman in origin, possibly built on a much earlier Saxon place of worship (there are carved Saxon heads in the porch). Carved animal heads in the church - a most unusual feature - reflect very early use of Penyard Park and Chase for hunting.

Roof repair work will ensure a water and weathertight building and ensure its future both as a place of worship and community resource.
