Gissing , Norfolk
Gissing Church is a Grade I listed building, with a flint round tower dating back to pre-conquest times, built most likely around 1000AD. The main interior feature is the splendid 15th century double-hammer beam roof with rows of angels with outstretched wings, which has featured recently in a publication called 'the Angel Roofs of East Anglia' by Michael Rimmer. St Mary's is listed as one of only four churches in the region and one of only 32 in the entire country to feature this particularly renowned type of narrow hammer-beam angel roof and a 15th century north porch
