St Luke

St Luke’s is a small village church built of brown ironstone and has a heavily weathered appearance.
The church dates from C13 and C14, with the chancel rebuilt in C15. The west door at the base of the tower is the only entrance to the church, following extensive restoration in the 1880s when the south porch was removed to give more windows for the south aisle. 1903, north aisle and north wall rebuilt. The church has suffered 4 lead thefts in less than 10 years (the latest in 2015) and had its rainwater goods removed around 50 years ago causing erosion at the base of the walls.
The south aisle roof needs to be re-roofed, and the church needs a proper rainwater system.
