After falling into disrepair St Mary's was rebuilt in 1879 by the Earl of Portsmouth.
The famous twisted spire of wooden shingles supports a fine peal of six bells.

The original wagon roof has beautifully carved and decorated bosses. There is a superb screen in the south aisle and the whole is enhanced by a variety of excellent features.
