A very fine Grade I listed church built around 1370 in water meadows, it was originally moated.
Records from the 12th century mention a church at Ticehurst, but the present building is thought to have been built by Sir William de Etchingham after completing nearby Etchingham church in the 1370s.

Apart from a prizewinning extension of 2010, the basic structure dates almost completely from the 14th century.
The extraordinarily large west window has kept its original Decorated tracery. The window in the north wall of the chancel has original glass depicting a Doom, or the Last Judgement, with some people being boiled in a cauldron while others are in a cart pushed by devils.
Don't miss the wonderful font cover, with its intricately carved oak panels and opening doors.
