St Wilfrid's church, is a wonderful example of the work of Temple Moore and his son in law, Leslie Moore which stands proud in the centre of town.

Consecrated in 1914, St Wilfrid’s is designated as a ‘Major Parish Church’ and is the 38th largest parish church in England.The church is a wonderful example of the work of Temple Moore and his son in law, Leslie Moore.

The church features stained glass windows by Victor Milner and Harry Harvey, along with a Harrison & Harrison organ.

The Parish Hall is a unique building dating from 1934, with a ‘lamella’ roof and charming cloisters. At the rear of the church there is quiet green space and the tenanted cottage, also dating from the 1930’s.
