National Church Awards: Visit Your Finalist Day 2024

On Saturday 23 November, many of our winners and finalists from the National Church Awards will be open!

Their doors will be unlocked, ready for you to visit and explore their beautiful buildings.

With churches and chapels – spread right across the UK and spanning three years of awards – why not pick one (or more) to visit?

Celebrating and sharing divine inspiration

The awards this year have been inspired by the work and legacy of Lord Patrick Cormack, a champion of church buildings, who dedicated his life to helping to keep the UK’s churches open and in use. He was also a dedicated church explorer, taking his family out at weekends to discover churches across his home county of Lincolnshire and beyond.

His son Charles said at the awards event:

"It was in churches that found most joy, seeing in each stone and spire a testament to both human craftsmanship and divine inspiration."

Churches have an amazing story to tell. From their beautiful buildings to the volunteers that are keeping them well maintained and open for all. The National Church Awards is a celebration of the good that these buildings do. Join with us and celebrate these wonderful local churches by visiting them on Saturday 23 November.
