Our listed building is 200years old this year, and is situated in the heart of the village.

Wheatley Lane Methodist Church is a Grade II listed building, built in 1824, and extended and enlarged in 1867. It was built as a traditional Methodist Preaching house, with an all round balcony, and pulpit. The current pulpit is not original but was added approximately 100 years ago.  The carcass of the original pipe organ still remains, although this is no longer operational. Our balcony contains painted images of representations of Jesus and the 12 disciples, which is around 50 years old. We no longer have traditional pews, as these were replaced about 40 years ago.

We have a regular congregation of around 50 people of mixed ages. We also share close links with our Methodist School, which is situated next to the church.
