A rare example of a rural church with Georgian interior and some outstanding box pews.

A late Georgian church situated in the village of Mellor in Lancashire, opened in 1829 and largely unaltered.

The old church at Mereworth was found to spoil the view of John Fane, 7th Earl of Westmorland, from his splendid new Palladian house, so he demolished it (he had already done away with the old castle and the village) and built a new classical church, and a new village, nearby.

All Saints is a typical village parish church, but it can be found in many guide books, as it is nationally and internationally famous for its stained glass windows by William Morris.

A church of Norman origin in a beautiful location with a rich tapestry of archaeological interests, and with memorials to many famous people.
