The building was erected in 1811 to a design by the Revd William Jenkins, one of John Wesley’s itinerant preachers who combined preaching with chapel design.

A family church.

Our church was founded in 1190 and is probably the oldest Roman Catholic Church still in use in England.

In a central position on the main street of Kirmington stands St Helena, with its 13th century ironstone tower, crowned by a copper on timber spire in 1838.

The church is set at the far end of the village and from here you get wonderful views over the Welland valley.

The first documentary evidence for the existence of Bugbrooke is the Domesday Book of 1086, although there is no reference to there being a church then.
