Discover this glorious early Gothic Revival chapel, sat alongside the National Trust house and landscape of Croome Park, laid out by Capability Brown.

This archetypal medieval church is set in the heart of the village. It abuts a clearly later square tower (1633) topped by a good spire and on the south side a chapel, refashioned in 1621, juts into the churchyard.

The church, dedicated to the Celtic Saint Bega, is situated in a picture perfect setting in fields on the east shore of Bassenthwaite Lake.

From 1938 the church has had an association with the RAF and was a chapel for the School of Air Warfare until closure in 1974.

This is an ancient enigmatic building in a rural setting of Hart, adjacent to the remains of the de Brus Manor House and medieval fish pond field.
