St Peter & St Paul is an old building; in fact there has been a church on this site since the Domesday book was written in 1086.

A lovely red brick church, situated in good walking country on the eastern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds providing a quiet spot for a welcome rest.

Strubby church is dedicated to St Oswald, king of Northumbria, whose conversion to Christianity nurtured enormous growth of the faith in this land.

The church is made from a kaleidoscope of colours, greenstone, brick, limestone and red sandstone.

There has been a building on the site since 1230, when Simon de Tynton was presented by William de Lisures to be the first Rector.

Reference to St Martin’s church occurs in the Matriculus of 1220 when Hugh de Grantmesnil a powerful baron who owned much land in Leicestershire, gave it to the Abbot of Ware, who was Proctor of the monks of St. Evroult in Normandy, France.

The church was designed by famous architect Charles Lanyon, and is an excellent source of information, through parish records, for anyone tracing their family tree.

Dating from the 12th Century, the church is situated outside the village with commanding views of the Leicestershire countryside.
