An excellent example of a traditional church from the 14th century.

Midhopestones is a hamlet, high in the Pennines north west of Sheffield, St James is a tiny rugged church, surrounded by a picturesque graveyard.

There has been a church on this site since the reign of Edward the Confessor (1042-1066) and it is the only one noted in the Domesday Book as being in the ‘vast and ancient territory of Hallamshire’.

This church , dating from 1832, has served generations in the South Shore area of Blackpool and continues to be a centre of the local community.
