Find a church

The oldest church in continuous use in the English speaking world; part Roman, part Saxon.

This great abbey, marking the rebirth of Christianity in southern England, was founded shortly after AD597 by St Augustine.

The church is attached to the seat of the Dukes of Beaufort, Badminton House and was built in 1785 by Charles Evans, in the style of St Martin in the Fields in miniature.

Designed by London architects JER and CP Cutts, the building contains work by Sir Ninian Comper, Martin Travers and Sir William Milner & Romilly Craze.

The church was recorded as being on the site since 1128.
