A lovely 12th century village church.

For many years St Barnabas has been known as ‘The Church on the North Downs Way’ and one unusual feature is that the main door faces away from the road since it was designed to be entered from the Great House.

St Mary's looks like two, or even three, churches magicked together, with its rather grand chancel and an exceptional east window that is often cited as an example of Decorated window tracery at its finest.

The ruins of 13th century Titchfield Abbey, the last monastery of Premonstratensian canons to be founded in England, lie in the valley of the River Meon in south Hampshire.
