A beautiful Victorian church with an interesting history in a pleasant surrounding.

St Mary's is uniquely designed and has an intriguing historical link with a pioneering Swiss educationalist.

This large Grade 1 church is essentially Perpendicular, albeit rebuilt in 1850-1.

Tucked away in a wooded corner on the edge of East Garston, All Saints is a pretty and well cared for church.

The Grade i church is Early English with a west tower over the crossing.

The churchyard has a distinct curve to it perhaps following the shape of an underlying moat and ancient meeting place. An ancient Yew tree reckoned to be between 1,000 and 2,000 years old also stands in the churchyard.

The chapel dates from 1724, together with a small hospital building, and the almshouses which form the three sided courtyard with St Bartholomew's chapel in the centre,

Amid scenic country views, this is an important and early Catholic church which has an impressive external design, an intimate and authentic interior and a unique story from construction in stages from a simple rectangular structure in 1785 to housing the bell which was the first one to ring out in the diocese since penal times ahead of the bell at Armagh Cathedral.
