The church was designed by Edward Welby Pugin (son of Augustus Welby Pugin) and built between 1873 - 1876 to replace a chapel in the grounds which now forms part of St Joseph's High School.

Fields and trees surround this wonderful ancient church, which seems connected to the East Anglian landscape around it by its walls of flint cobbles and its roof of reed thatch.

Beautiful 13th/14th century parish church with pinnacled tower with battlements, numerous gargoyles and a canonical sundial.

A good place to hold meetings, gatherings, conferences.

Tucked away from its village, and next to Copford Hall, St Michael's is one of Essex's most important Norman churches, and has a remarkable collection of original wall paintings from the 1140s.

Designed by Philip Hardwicke and completed in 1823, the design is based in St Paul's in Covent Garden, with many internal design features referencing our patron St John the Evangelist.

Founded 1147 with Roman pillars and altar, medieval glass and misericords.

All Saints is unique: it has the only triangular tower in England.
