The church dates from around 1450 and is built of red sandstone, with a tall, typically Somerset tower and contains a fabulous rood turret housing the spiral stair leading to the top of the rood screen.

Though the earliest written records go back to the 12th century, it is believed that a Christian church has stood here for over 1300 years.

Open daily, offering an atmosphere of quiet reflection to all visitors, St Mary's is an ancient place of worship dating back to at least 1190.
