The ancient parish of Westbury was one of the largest in Wiltshire with a petty medieval church in the town at it's centre.

The 700 year old parish church at Westbury on Severn has a separate stone tower, with an enormous wooden spire, newly clad in oak shingles, not far from the River Severn and next door to a National Trust water garden, the buildings are a landmark in the area.

The church has been a part of the village since 1175 and in 2025 will be 850 years old.
