Holy Trinity was consecrated in 1960 replacing the old medieval building in the city centre on Watergate Street, which became the Guild Hall.

Situated on the Pilgrimage trail to St David's Cathedral the present Grade ll listed building was erected in 1865 although there has been a place of worship here since before 1066.

The Priory church of St Mary & the Holy Cross was the nave of a Benedictine priory church, the priory was dedicated to St Mary and the church to the Holy Cross.

The earliest part of this church is its chancel, from the late 13th century.

A fine example of a medieval church with later alterations and additions, St Mary’s is light and attractive and includes a lady chapel and two notable memorials.

A casualty of Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries, the only remaining part of the 12th century Premonstratensian Blanchland Abbey is part of the abbey church which today serves the parish of Blanchland.

Blanchland got its name from the white habits worn by monks of the Premonstratensian order who founded Blanchland Abbey.
