Dubbed 'The Cathedral of the Wolds', the tower of All Saints defines Pocklington from miles around and its interior is the focal point for visitors to the town, many who are tracing their family roots.

The impressive remains of an abbey founded in 1123 by Stephen, later King of England, including much of the east end and west tower of the church, the ornately decorated chapter house and the cloister buildings.

An historic Roman Catholic 'Barn' style chapel built in 1755 during penal times.

Visitors have described the church in the visitors book as 'impressive' and 'lovely'; they admire the particular peaceful quality of the building.

A Grade I Listed medieval building and unique for the Yorkshire High Wolds, it has an imposing spire which can be seen for miles around.

St Mary's has been an important religious site since the 8th century.
