Designed by renowned architect Sir Charles Nicholson, St Paul was first opened in October 1912 and built to accommodate 1000 people. The building is architecturally striking in its simplicity and lightness, with exquisite stained glass east and west windows alongside those in the Lady Chapel. The west window shows the skyline of terrace houses and mills of Halifax.

We are to have a new four manual organ installed (thanks to a bequest) in 2025 with new cases designed from a watercolour sketch by the architect yet never installed at the time the church was opened.
