St Wilfrid’s is a 13th century church in Early English style and has carvings from the 12th century.

A hidden sanctuary of tranquillity steeped in centuries of prayer in Dyffryn Clwyd.

A Victorian church, stone built, it was designed in the popular neo Gothic style of the 1840s.

The church was commissioned in 1953 by Major General Sir GAN Swiney, KBE, CB, MC, who was Commander of Chilwell Ordinance Depot at the time.

Christ Church was built as a mission chapel in 1901-03, and consecrated in 1915.

Today St Wilfrid’s is recognised as one of the finest Catholic parish churches in England with its sanctuary which was remodelled following the Second Vatican Council although the ornate reredos designed by Edward Pugin remains unaltered.

St Collen’s belongs to a group of three churches in the Mission Area of Valle Crucis, and situated in the heart of the beautiful town, Llangollen.
