Wavertree, Merseyside
The foundation stone of the church was laid on the 21st Sep 1868 by the Reverend Augustus Campbell and it was consecrated in 1872.
It was for many years a Chapel of Ease to Holy Trinity church, Church Road Wavertree. The name 'Chapel of Ease' refers to a consecrated building in aid of the parish church to which building a separate district has not been assigned. A separate ecclesiastical parish was constituted in 1901.
