The Thornley Porch is the name given to the area of the church where the organ is housed. The organ was built around 1820. The chancel has been at least partly rebuilt several times, the most recent being in 1854 when pieces of a medieval stone were found.
Two medieval grave slabs are to be found in the chancel dating back to 13th century. The poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning was baptised in the church on 10th February 1808, who was born in Coxhoe Hall. A plaque has been erected in the church in memory of her.
