This lovely little church was completely rebuilt in the 19th century with stone from an ancient Benedictine nunnery; you can still see the chisel marks made by the medieval masons. The architect, William Searle Hicks built it in 13th century style, with a remarkable stone vaulted roof. The painted reredos behind the altar features four northern saints; Kentigern, Cuthbert, Aidan and Ninian; as well as Mary and Patrick. Pevsner described it as a 'very attractive little church'.
