The present building repacks one of Saxon date and is mainly 11th century, with the tower, chancel, north aisle and porch added in the 13th century.
There are many unique and rare features in the church. For example, the font dates from the Norman period and is made of Sussex stone and the pulpit is two decker and clad with linenfold panels from the 16th century. There is also a recessed tomb, where visitors can see the 'Kingston devil' and most interestingly there is the window from a 14th century Anchorite cell.
