St Mary

Long Sutton's tower, standing to one side of the church, was built in the 13th century and, until the 18th century had open arches at its base.

It rises through three elegant stages of differing heights to the spire, which has four spirelets at its corners. Built of timber and covered in lead, it is said to be the oldest of its kind in Britain.

The church itself has a Norman nave, with later additions and enhancements that include a south porch, heightened aisles and a clerestory.
