This is one of only four churches by architects Gillespie, Kidd & Coia and is in their trademark red brick inside and out.
Fintry Kirk is a Category B Listed Building, built in 1823 from local stone and largely by local craftsmen. It sits on a site of Christian worship that has existed for several hundred years.
The Kirk has some unique features:
- Our War Memorial, in the form of a beautiful stained glass window listing those from the village and parish who gave their lives in the two world wars, is situated behind the pulpit.
- For a small parish Kirk of about 300 homes, we have some truly wonderful and exquisite stained glass windows, which are among the finest in Scotland. With village fundraising, all the stained glass windows were recently cleaned, repaired and renovated.
- A unique feature of our Kirk is the staircase by the entrance, which is cantilevered. This is one of only two which still survive to this day.
The Kirk is used by the community, year round and acts as the meeting point for an enthusiastic congregation. It is not just a place for Sunday worship. It is the host for a wide variety of activities from Guild events to music evenings.
